About
Founding director of the Journalism Leaders Programme at the School of Journalism, Media and Communication at the UCLan,home the UK's oldest journalism programme and initiator off the MADE (Media and Digital Enterprise) Project, the UK winner of the International Press Institute's inaugural News Innovation Contest funded by Google. A former award-winning journalist with wide international experience, he remains active in industry networks as the co-founder of the Digital Editors Network, the Journalism Leaders Forum and was the first academic invited to the World Editors Forum. Francois initiated the World Newsmedia Innovation Study (formerly the World Newspaper Future & Change Study), which since 2008 has run annually in collaboration with the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers(WAN-IFRA).
