About

John is the UK National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) / UCLan Research Fellow based in the Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD). The research recognises that there are significant social and community impacts on those living close to nuclear sites in the UK during all stages of a sites development. The overarching aim of John’s research is to provide a methodology for measuring the social impact of decisions when using decision making models to assess impacts of the nuclear agenda on environmental and social sustainability.

The research builds on previous research regarding stakeholder perceptions of dialogue and barriers to participation during nuclear decommissioning. Also, how stakeholders influence strategy and decison making in this area.

John is also on a 1 year secondment to the University to be the lead on industry engagement with the Energy and Sustainable Technology sector.
